It’s often said that pets, particularly dogs, resemble their owners, and now science agrees. Michael Roy at the University of California, San Diego decided to test the theory by attending three random dog parks. He took separate photos of dogs and their owners then showed several groups of people and got them to match the pet with their owners. The majority of those involved got the matches right. Several similar studies concerning people who look like their dogs got the same results, although they found it only works with pure breed dogs. And while the differences are sometimes based on appearance (women with long hair having a pet dog with long hair), there are also more subtle features that humans and their dogs share.
If you need further proof, animal photographer Gerrard Gethings was commissioned by Laurence King Publishing to shoot 25 pairs of owners and their dogs for the game that goes by the name of Do You Look Like Your Dog?: Match Dogs with Their Humans: A Memory Game. 1. Curly Grey Hair
It’s hard not to see the similarities between Jimmie and Judith. The two both have curly grey hair and kind faces. They have no doubt shared a fun and happy life together.
2. Why the Long Face
This gent spotted in Boston shares the same facial features as his pet basset hound. Not only that, but the owner has dressed in various shades of brown to match the color of his dog.
3. Musical Freinds
It’s not just everyday folk who look like their dogs. This image of singer Josh Groban illustrates how famous people can also look like their pets. Both have a lot of fluffy hair, with Groban’s Wheaton Terrier, Sweeney Houdini Groban, known to always be by his side when he’s not on the road touring.

This guy and his pug definitely have the same vibe going on here.
5. Blondes Have More Fun
These two are like peas in a pod. Both have long golden locks and straight angular faces. They were part of the British network Channel 4’s “Dog a Like” competition, with the station trying to find the best owner and dog lookalikes.

YouTuber and photographer Keegan Robin decided to put the theory of dog owners looking like their pets to the test and went out and shot a host of people and their pets. As you can see from this photo, the dog owner has a solid resemblance to her pet.

Liam James posted a series of images on Twitter of him and his pet husky, Luna, striking various poses. Both share supermodel looks as the above photo proves and are born to walk the catwalk.
8. Curls Get the Girls
Juliette Woolf was one of many who entered the Channel 4 lookalike competition, and you can see why. Her cockapoo, with its super curly hair, looks very much like Woolf.

9. Nothing But Tongue
Twitter user Rick Starrr and his dog have one major thing in common, giant tongues. It’s not often you come across humans and dogs that share the same sized tongue but these two are the exception.

Take away the purple-colored hair and ears and you might not think these two look that similar, but there is still a softness to both the owner’s and dog’s faces that makes them resemble each other. They certainly share a bond and unconditional love that only a human and their pet can understand.

This owner and her dog might not look physically similar, but it’s clear to see they have the same mojo. Both are looking at the camera with a bit of attitude. If you check out the other photos of the dynamic duo, you will see an air of arrogance in this beautiful pooch, who also happens to be French, which could be part of the reason why he looks this way.

This is another owner and their dog taken by Keegan Robin for his project about dogs and their owners looking the same. What strikes you about these two is that they are both tall with inquisitive eyes. Another good example that proves people really do look like their dogs.

Chelsea Handler is a big dog lover, so it was quite sad when she announced to the world that her dog Chunk had passed away. Chunk was all over her Instagram and you can see the two have similar eyes and eyebrow structure.

It’s plain to see these two look the same. Caroline took to Twitter to confirm that she and her pet dog Joey are doppelgangers. As well as their strawberry blonde hair, there’s something about their faces that also looks similar.

How adorable is this picture? This elderly lady was out walking her dog in the streets of London when she encountered John Paul Hunter, who took this picture of the two. The duo have the same white hair and make for a seriously cute pair.
