X Lanes: Now Open at Fashion Fair Mall

Did you know that during the early pandemic, Moses Chun was quietly building a multi million dollar entertainment center for Fresno to enjoy? It’s true!

Chun and his partners have been hard at work the past couple of years. They were chasing their dream of a bowling alley and entertainment space but needed a location. They then chose the unique location in the basement of Fashion Fair Mall!

Long-time Fresno residents (myself included) have fuzzy memories of the staircase that was once located just inside Fashion Fair Mall’s main entrance and it began where Starbucks has stood for the last ten years. That memory is how I knew Fashion Fair had an underground level. However, until just last week I had no idea something new and exciting was about to open up in it!

X Lanes is not just a bowling alley, but also a restaurant (see their menu here), bar, and pool hall. It features dozens of screens showing the most popular sporting events, giant board games, electronic darts, and for now – cornhole.

As with so many things, the arrival of X Lanes’ arcade game machines was delayed by factors caused by COVID. However, the machines are expected to arrive in March creating a state-of-the-art arcade for all guests to enjoy.

X Lanes officially opened their doors to the public on Thursday, February 10th and is open 7 days a week from 11:30am to 11pm weekdays and until 12am Friday and Saturday nights. They are located at 609 E. Shaw in Fashion Fair Mall, and you can enter through the parking lot entrance on the South side of the mall, or from within the mall during normal mall hours. The entrance is next to Victoria’s Secret between the Mall’s main entrance and JC Penney.

Ensuring guests can relax, enjoy themselves and feel safe at X Lanes, there is security at the entrances, bag checks and a dress code. (No overly baggy or soiled clothing, gang attire or gang affiliated tattoos.)

So, will you be checking out Fresno’s newest, 50,000 square foot entertainment venue during the upcoming long weekend? It’s been a long time in the making, and it’s ready to entertain you!
